Practice for your Optiver interview
Practice material and curated resources to get you ready for the Optiver process.
Preparation material
Probability Test
A timed multiple-choice probability test: expected value, Markov chains, combinatorics, conditional probability and betting games, each question on its own clock.
Sequence Test
A timed numerical-reasoning test on number sequences: spot the pattern (arithmetic, geometric, interleaved, fraction and prime sequences) and pick the next term.
Likelihood Test
A likelihood-judgment test with a clock per question: read a chart, table or scenario, then rank the statements from most likely to least likely.
Interval Estimation Test
A timed estimation test: bound probabilities, counts and quantities with a lower and an upper limit. Tight intervals that contain the true value score the most; intervals that miss score nothing.
Orderbook Test
A timed arbitrage test: each puzzle deals a few cards, single assets and baskets, each with buy and sell prices. Find a combination of trades that locks in a profit, then move to the next puzzle.
Cognitive Games
A set of short cognitive games: task switching, response control, working memory and more. Each game takes 2 to 15 minutes and tracks your performance separately.
