What you’ll do

The Trading Documentation Negotiator will join our team, working primarily for and alongside attorneys and negotiators in the Financing and Transaction Management Group (“TMG”). This division negotiates and manages the legal agreements associated with the Firm’s global flow trading business (e.g., prime brokerage, ISDA, derivatives, repurchase agreements, futures, options etc.), and counsels traders and others with respect to these agreements, their uses and market practices. TMG’s coverage is global, and TMG supports all strategies and products for the discretionary, quantitative and macro business lines.

Specifically, you will:

  • Negotiate various trading agreements, including but not limited to ISDAs, Repo agreements, FX Prime Brokerage Agreements, MSFTAs, Futures and OTC Clearing Agreements.
  • Assist in equity prime brokerage negotiations including term commitments, related pricing, and margin schedules
  • Confirm and sign derivative confirmations for specific bespoke transactions or transactions without MCAs in place
  • Maintain the team’s document database and distribute, collect, and file legal documents
  • Assist in the execution and tracking of legal finance agreements, identifying and analyzing key terms for signoff sheets and tracking tools
  • Organize and maintain status sheets, prepare documents for signature, and send status updates to internal clients
  • Assist in the completion of various regulatory filings, including SEC and NFA filings
  • Run ISDA Protocol review and adherence
  • Oversee custodial and bank account documentation
  • Handle exchange membership applications, SEF agreements, and various electronic trading access and software documentation
  • Support the KYC team with assorted forms and deliverables in connection with counterparty and broker onboardings
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including Treasury, Finance, Investor Services, Operations and Tax, and external brokers, banks and key trading counterparties on key documentation terms
  • Assist in testing and implementing new technology to assist the teams’ processes

What’s required

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a negotiator or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail and the tenacity to produce meticulous work
  • Highly organized, process driven, and structured work ethic with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to juggle many tasks at once under pressure, while prioritizing tasks and seeing each through to completion
  • Exceptional reading and writing skills, as well as outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to accept varied assignments across a broad range of responsibilities
  • Adept at addressing questions and seeking appropriate resources to resolve open items or attain additional information as required
