Valkyrie Trading

Valkyrie Trading runs European-session options market making out of Chicago, staffing desks from midnight to 8 a.m. local time to quote a market on another continent. Formed in 2011 in what it calls the derivatives capital of the world, it is built around high-performance automated systems rather than floor presence.

The firm organizes itself into three interdependent groups: engineers who build the trading stack, traders who supply market judgment, and quants who bridge them, iterating on the systems together daily. The technology is in-house C++ and Python on Linux, tuned at the operating-system level for the latency that options market making at this depth demands.
