Headlands Technologies Statistics Test 2
Prepare for the worked statistics problems, the second part of the Headlands Technologies online assessment, with this realistic practice test: 4 problems in 25 minutes.
Realistic test mode
SaveThis test is designed to prepare you for the second part of the Headlands Technologies online assessment for researchers. You will face 2 statistics problems on one 12-minute clock: a regression t-statistic, how long a strong backtest can stay flat before you doubt it, the estimator that minimises absolute error, and several strategies tested at once. On the real test you show your working on paper; here you type the final number, as a fraction or a decimal rounded to at least 3 places. Work the method on paper, as you will on the day, and use a calculator for the last square root if you need one.
This is a short 2-question example. Premium members get the full 4-question test in 25 minutes.
The coding problems
The real test ends with a C++ numerical problem in 15 minutes, a sliding-window mean that has to handle infinity and NaN, and 2 algorithm problems in 20 minutes, one of them the fewest edits so that no two neighbouring characters match. Both are in the coding practice.
