Verition Fund Management

Verition trades the esoteric corners of otherwise standard hedge-fund categories. Inside its credit, fixed-income and macro, convertible and volatility arbitrage, event-driven, equity, and quantitative books sit instruments most multi-managers leave alone, financial transmission rights among them. It also runs more portfolio managers per dollar of capital than most peers, which pushes it toward many small, diversified positions rather than a few large ones.

Nicholas Maounis and Josh Goldstein founded the Greenwich firm in October 2008, seeding it initially with Maounis's own capital. It has built a long record since, and in April 2025 Affiliated Managers Group took a minority stake in the business.
