TransMarket Group

TransMarket Group began life in 1980 as Aardvark Financial, and the aardvark still surfaces in odd places, including the Latin name of its Swiss affiliate, Oryctérope Transalpin. Founder Ray Cahnman traded on the Chicago Board of Trade floor from 1975 and was an early mover in bond futures basis arbitrage at the very inception of CBOT Treasury futures.

Renamed in 1984, TMG spun its brokerage business, BrokerOne, off to MF Global in 2007 and refocused on a team-based, model-driven proprietary arcade. Today it is an electronic market maker across rates, government debt, currencies, commodities, equities and options, with Cahnman still running the US interest-rates strategy under CEO Doug Adams. Its mission statement talks of blessing others through stewardship of the wealth it creates, language no other prop shop uses.
