Quantbox says it broke into India's top five HFT firms inside a year of opening, the kind of claim that only holds up with a senior team behind it. Prashant Singh, Pankaj Kewalramani and CFO Gunjan Kandoi, the last a Morgan Stanley quant and banking alumnus, founded it in 2020 with a Singapore base and the bulk of trading staff in India.

It is purely proprietary, trading its own capital through low-latency systems built in-house on a stack that leans on kdb+, C++, Python and R. The blend is systematic alpha research plus electronic market-making rather than one or the other. Beyond India and Singapore it has seeded small teams in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, the UK and the UAE.
