Plutus Research scaled a serious HFT operation without ever leaving Bengaluru's tech corridor, skipping the traditional Indian financial centres of Mumbai and Delhi. Founded in 2017 by IIT and prop-trading alumni including Shivakumar Reddy Chinthala, Saurabh Bhola, and Aashay Harlalka, it built ultra-low-latency C++ infrastructure for India's equity cash and derivatives markets.

The firm runs market-making, aggressive, and signal-based strategies on the NSE. Its registered legal address has since moved to Ahmedabad, but the engineering and trading core stays in Whitefield, close to the city's software-industry talent.
