ORA Traders

ORA Traders has quietly made markets from the same Amsterdam district since 1997, making it one of the older independent Dutch prop shops still standing. It trades options, futures, and equities with its own capital and says so bluntly: no clients. Developers sit on the trading floor beside traders, because the firm treats the software it writes as the thing that makes it profitable.

In 2020 it moved to combine with Market Wizards Group, pooling exchange memberships, clearing relationships, and co-location infrastructure to reach more than fifteen European cash and derivatives venues, citing MiFID II cost pressure as the reason consolidation made sense. Its product range stretches to US equity options, broader than the typical Amsterdam derivatives desk.
