Firm
Minghong Investment (明汯投资)
In 2018 Minghong rebuilt itself around medium-to-high-frequency statistical arbitrage, and the bet paid off: assets multiplied, and in 2020 it became the first quant fund in mainland China to clear 100 billion yuan, helped by being the first to distribute at scale through securities firms and private banks.
Qiu Huiming founded the firm in 2014 after a spell as a portfolio manager at Millennium Management, bringing a Penn physics PhD to a systematic, deep-learning operation that runs across stocks, futures and options on its own GPU clusters. From its North Bund base in Shanghai it has since seeded offices in Hong Kong, New York and Beijing.
