Maven Securities is owned entirely by the people who work there, no outside investors, no private equity, unusual for a London options house of its reach. Founded in 2011 with a handful of staff, it grew into a fixture of listed-derivatives liquidity and now tops the exchanges' own scorecards: number one in Fixed Income Options on Eurex and ICE for 2022 and 2023, and in Bund, Euribor, and SONIA options specifically.

The firm calls itself as much a technology shop as a trading one, and the stack backs that up, with FPGA hardware on the latency-critical paths alongside C++, Python, and Julia. It has layered a multi-strategy group and a systematic alpha desk onto the market-making core, and opened an unusual Monaco office in 2023.
