GSA Capital

The name is the strategy. GSA stands for Global Statistical Arbitrage, the market-neutral quant approach Jonathan Hiscock ran on Deutsche Bank's proprietary desk before he left in 2005 to do it for himself. He took roughly fifteen colleagues and built GSA Capital in London, deliberately modeling it on engineering outfits like Google rather than a traditional finance house.

The work stayed systematic: applied mathematics and statistics turned into trading models across equities, futures and FX, run globally and across time horizons. In November 2021 GSA reshaped itself into a private trading firm concentrating on its strongest strategies and its own capital. London remains the base, with a New York office alongside.
