ExodusPoint Capital Management opened in 2018 with the largest launch in hedge fund history, gathering roughly 8.5 billion dollars of investor capital in a single close. The size reflected the Millennium pedigree of its founders, Michael Gelband and Hyung Lee, who had run fixed income and equities there before starting out on their own in 2017.

The firm operates a multi-manager model, with experienced portfolio managers running complementary liquid strategies inside a shared risk framework. It has since broadened its global footprint, including an expansion of investor coverage into Miami.
