Epoch Capital

Epoch Capital began in 2007 as a discretionary Sydney trading shop and spent its first decade methodically converting human judgment into code, ending up systematic. It trades around the clock, six days a week, across futures, options, swaps, and spot products worldwide.

The firm is not purely proprietary. Alongside its own book it runs a hedge fund business through a US-registered investment adviser, and it has taken minority stakes in ventures including the crypto market maker Auros and a carbon-offset platform, acting as strategic investor as well as trader. Founder Michael Humphreys built Epoch around tight collaboration between engineers and traders on a C++ and Python stack, run out of The Rocks in Sydney with desks in London and New York.
