Dymon Asia launched in 2008 with a 123-million-dollar seed from Tudor Investment Corporation, and it opened for business into one of the most violent macro backdrops in modern memory, the same year Lehman Brothers failed. Danny Yong and Keith Tan started it as a global macro shop and timed it, intentionally or not, for maximum turbulence.

From that macro core it has broadened into a diversified multi-strategy platform, with teams across FX, fixed income, equities, credit, and commodities, and has added private equity and venture capital lines beside the hedge fund. Run from Millenia Tower on Singapore's Temasek Avenue, it now counts among Asia's larger hedge funds.
