Danske Commodities
Danske Commodities runs at a pace that puts it among Europe's busiest physical energy traders, executing well over a hundred thousand trades on a typical day with the overwhelming majority of intraday activity placed by algorithms rather than people. Its workforce is unusually academic for a commodity house, weighted heavily toward master's and PhD holders.
Henrik Lind founded the firm in Aarhus in 2004, and it trades power and gas across dozens of European markets around the clock while optimizing wind, solar, and flexible assets for third-party owners. Since 2019 it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Equinor, bought for 400 million euros, yet it still trades under its own name from Aarhus. The combination of machine-learning execution and a research-grade staff defines how it competes.
