AlphaGrep

AlphaGrep built its edge in a place most Western HFT shops largely ignored: India's domestic exchanges. Starting in 2009 with five people in a Mumbai room, founders Mohit Mutreja and Parshant Mittal, both Wharton graduates with time at Citadel, DE Shaw, and AQR, grew the firm into one of the largest participants by volume on the NSE and MCX before turning outward.

That domestic dominance became the launchpad for a global multi-asset franchise spanning SGX, Eurex, and US venues, with ultra-low-latency systems mining petabytes of market data. In 2021 the firm opened a second front, launching AlphaMine (now AlphaGrep Investment Management) to run external capital from Singapore, China, and India, layering an asset-management business atop the dominant prop trade.
