Acadian Asset Management

Acadian was applying data and computers to global stock selection before most of the industry trusted a model over a portfolio manager. Founded in Boston in 1986, it became one of the largest systematic equity managers, and it built that scale partly on emerging markets, which it has run quantitatively for over thirty years when few peers would touch them systematically.

Unusually for a quant shop, its economics are public. Acadian Asset Management LLC does the trading while Acadian Asset Management Inc. trades on the NYSE, giving outside investors a window into a business rivals keep private. Every strategy, from long-only equity to extension portfolios to its newer systematic credit, runs on factor research and large-scale data processing rather than discretionary calls. Affiliates in London, Singapore and Sydney handle local market access.
